Plantronics Blackwire C5220 is well-crafted for picky users

By Kathrina Ysabel Pineda

Plantronics is well-known for producing some of the finest headgear technologies. Most Plantronics we’ve reviewed have exceeded our expectations. We’ve been using the Plantronics C5220 for some time now in the MB TechLab and its rising really fast as one of our favorite headphones.

The Plantronics Blackwire C5220 is a well-crafted headphone that can be used for personal and businesses. By its design, the C5520 is designed for the workplace, BPOs and help desks. We take it that among such requirements, a headphone needs to be comfortable especially for extended periods of use.

Over an eight-hour use, the C5220 has remained comfortable to use. It’s light and the audio it produces are loud and crisp.

If you’re an audiophile with careful attention to sound detail, then don’t get your hopes too high for the C5200. The audio is remarkable and full of clarity, but it’s not a device to sit back and listen to music all day. It’s designed to take calls and engage in conversations for long hours.

That being said, the microphone is impressive. It captures plenty of detail and transmits them perfectly over the other end of the receiver. It’s a plug-and-play device using USB ports, which gives this device flexibility if you choose to work on-the-go.

Along the cord is a control panel for volume, answer incoming calls, or mute conversations. You can also detach this portion of the headphone to reveal a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, which goes well in most phones. And yes, you can engage in conversation this way.

The C5520 features SoundGuard. It basically monitors sound levels, preventing sudden increase of volume. It also manages certain levels of decibels so to protect the wearer’s ears.
