Vivo has been shoring up its mobile phone clan with plenty of impressive devices backed by insane specs. Most would immediately look at the built-in cameras the mobile phone has to offer, consistently wowing anyone with its fine photo and video captures that can be enhanced with various features.
The Vivo X21 is no different for people looking for an alternative to the iPhone X. But before making a decision, the most important aspect is skimming down the features this smartphone has to offer.
Made for the Classy Mobile Phone user
At first glance, the Vivo X21 should immediately reel in comparisons with Apple’s iPhone X. It is thin and light and features a glass-backed back for an ultra classy look. The power and volume button controls are masterfully placed on the right-side of the device while the 3.5 mm jack is positioned at the top alongside IR blaster.
The SIM card tray is situated at the bottom of the Vivo X21 next to the micro USB charging port. The SIM card slot can accommodate two SIM cards or a SIM card and a microSD card.
Up front is a 6.28-inch 19:9 FHD+ Super AMOLED display (2280×1080 pixels), delivering great color accuracy and deep contrast levels that should impress eventual owners. It even includes a blue light filter that adjusts accordingly to temperature.
Breaking in Biometric Display Security
For the Vivo X21, the big news is really about the in-display fingerprint reader. Most phones out in the market normally use the physical home button to recognize recorded fingerprints. Given the fast-evolving state of technology, most are fully aware that such a biometric security feature would eventually be integrated into phone display screens.
The Vivo X21 provides an immediate glimpse of things to come. An activation zone is located at the lower third of the screen, requiring just under a second to unlock the device.
To make sure that unlocking the phone runs smoothly, it would be best to first setup the security protocol for the phone. Users can do this by heading to Settings and then the Fingerprint, face and password option. The Fingerprint option can be found at the top of the list although one would be required to key in their 4-number or 6-number password initially. Once set, all a user has to do is register his fingerprint.
A look under the Vivo X21 hood
It would be best to also to take a look at the internal specifications of the Vivo X21. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset and an Adreno 512 GPU. It also comes with 6 GB of RAM and has 128 GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 256 GB) by default. It relies on a non-removable Li-Ion 3,200 mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
As other Vivo models, the X21 does not disappoint when it comes to the front and rear camera. The device offers dual rear cameras (12 MP and 5 MP) and a 12 MP front-facing shooter. Backed by a multitude of shooting modes, the Vivo X21 should easily deliver high-resolution photos and videos with the proper adjustments and tweaks.
The Vivo X21 offers the usual portrait mode, panorama, professional, Face Beauty and AR stickers, each coming with the necessary adjustments that happy snappers want. It can also capture 4K videos, another must for phone users in this modern age.
With the in-display fingerprint sensor and yet another set of infallible set of built-in cameras and advanced features, the Vivo X21 should be a great buy for anyone looking for a stylish device that can perform a variety of tasks ranging from gaming to social media itineraries.
